We're on 3 days straight of rain. Since the weather isn't changing it's guard until Monday, we're taking a bus north to catch a boat ride out to the Doubtful Sound. Invercargill has been a good stopping point but it's time to move on. The only thing we're doing here is getting fat. We managed to find this Turkish Kebab restaurant that serves the best kebabs (gyros) ever. We've managed to hit the place at least once everyday...would've been twice had they been open at 10:00 PM in the evening after we returned from the track races. Went to the velodrome last night to watch NZ national track championships. Once again, witnessed some great racing. Saw several more mullets to add to our count. The 80's is not a thing of the past here in NZ. Is the trend starting to pick up in the states as well? Have we missed something?
We're out of our little green caravan and back on the bikes to pick up the bus at 3:25 PM. We've decided to skip Stewart Island, the Hump Track, but might hike the Kepler Track. Hump Track and Stewart Island were a bit pricey to do. $45.00 a night to hike the Hump Track and it takes 3 days & 2 nights to do. They provide the huts, pillows, and breakfast porridge...Paul and I want none of these. Can we do it for free then?
We only have 4 weeks left here in NZ. Time is flying. We'll be heading up the west coast of the South Island then crossing the Cook Straight to arrive back on the North Island. Our flight is out of Auckland. We're hoping to stop in Fiji for a week or so on the way home to have a vacation from our vacation. It's hard work being away for so long. We're challenged everyday...so many decisions to make. Paul came up with the idea of having a "leader" for the day. They're the one that makes all of the decisions. The minion only supports the leader...no matter what! We'd recommend trying it. It saves a lot of time otherwise wasted trying to make a decision. Paul's leader for today then we switch the next day. It keeps you on your toes.
More later...Cheers!

Wanna see pictures of the fjords and glaciers where you are now!!
That area is supposed to be some of the most remote area anywhere in the world. 5,000ft peaks that drop all the way into the ocean.
