Auckland to Rotorua

Paul and I would like to send a big "shout out" to the New Zealand de Jong family for their superb hospitality. We've been dropping in and out of Auckland enough to make their place a mess! Once we get a picture of Lex, Christina, Mieke, Andre, Willem, and Niko we'll post it on the blog. What a great meal, Willem! Our tummies thank you!

We're back on the road via bus to Rotorua. Upon arrival to Rotorua we visited the historical museum and art center. This used to be the old medical spa back in the early 1900's. They've restored much of the place due to the highly acidic/sulfuric hot water being pumped in through the thermals throughout Rotorua.

People from all over would come to this "healing" spa to experience the curing effects of the hot, mineral waters. The hydrotherapy was good for all types of joint ailments as well as skin disorders, etc. I'm sure anyone could benefit from it!
